Careers
Jobs in the State of Georgia – Each member of Team Georgia plays a vital role that leads to our success in delivering results for Georgians. If you have the skills, the commitment and desire to make a difference by delivering services that matter most to Georgians, then we invite you to explore career opportunities available with the State of Georgia.
Careers in Food – With thousands of current food and beverage manufacturing jobs posted from hundreds of the industry’s top companies and recruiters, this site is considered the largest industry specific job board on the internet today.
NEHA Job Center – Visit the National Environmental Health Association’s job center for current postings of available positions related to public health from around the nation.
USA Jobs – Research and apply for government jobs online; learn more about the hiring reform and get tips on perfecting your resume, application and interview, and on how to apply for federal jobs. The majority of federal jobs are listed on this site; however, some excepted service agencies, such as the U. S. Department of State for Foreign Service Officers, post jobs independently on their own website or elsewhere. If you’d like to work for a specific agency, do a targeted search of their job sections and employment information pages.
Working at FDA – FDA is actively recruiting for mission-critical medical and science positions to strengthen the organization’s public health mission; visit this site and then search by specific centers for open postings.
Careers at USDA – Find jobs specifically associated with the Department of Agriculture (note, some may be restricted to agency and/or department employees only). Also find information about opportunities for veterans and the USDA Pathways Programs, which is geared toward students and recent graduates.
Homeland Security Jobs – Search for unique job postings for work in securing U.S. borders, airports, seaports and waterways; researching and developing the latest security technologies; responding to natural disasters or terrorists acts; and analyzing intelligence reports.
Grants
Review the latest in grant opportunities:
AFDO – The Association of Food and Drug Officials active grants page provides an outline for each. Links will only be made available for grants that are openly accepting new applications. This includes a variety of retail program grants and small conference grants that can support ongoing training activities in Georgia for local and state representatives.
Georgia Department of Agriculture Grant Announcements – The GDA administers numerous federal grants and cooperative agreements through its various departmental divisions. There are also a variety of federal/state grants and loans available (not administered by GDA) that applicants can independently apply for. The list on this website is not all-inclusive, but is a good starting point for agricultural-related grant/loan research.
Grants.Gov – Browse by category or agency. FDA posts all grant application packages to this site, and is now accepting electronic applications. The site allows organizations to electronically review and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies. Grants.gov is a unified storefront for interactions between grant applicants and the Federal agencies that manage grant funds.
National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition Farm Bill Program & Grants – This site includes a comprehensive “quick guide” to Farm Bill programs and grants, including relevant links and deadlines. The information is updated regularly when new Requests for Applications (RFAs) are released. Visitors can also choose to sign up for the NSAC e-newsletter, which features new RFA announcements.
NIH – The National Institute of Health, under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides grant announcements for research and resource grants, training and fellowship grants, career development awards, program project/center grants and more.
Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) Grant Projects – Those who have been awarded Southern SARE grant funds have found wide-ranging outcomes that help farmers and ranchers sustain operations and the environment in which they operate.
USDA Grants and Loans – Everything from farm loans to rural development loans, crop and livestock insurance to the Federal State Marketing Improvement Program (a matching grant program). Also see grant opportunities for the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
